For Don Ha, Leadership is a Habit
Don Ha needs no introduction. The director of Don Ha Real Estate Ltd Licensed (REAA 2008) T/A Ray White Manukau has risen to pre-eminence in real estate through a mix of astute business acumen and a level of service that is unparalleled in the industry.
From virtually empty pockets to New Zealand's rich list, and from the Rookie of the Year Award in 1996 to Salesman of the Year Award in 1999, Don's indeed come a long way.

The climb to the top hasn't been easy. Don has sweated every rung of the ladder to success. He came to New Zealand with not a cent to his name as a Vietnamese refugee when he was nine years old.
In 1991 he opened the Saigon Bakery in Mt Roskill but sold the business to join the real estate industry in the hope of 'bettering himself'. Within his first year, without any experience, he sold and settled 86 property transactions.
He has since sold over a 1200 properties worth millions of dollars in the South Auckland region. Last year Ray White Manukau broke all time record by signing up 917 properties value of $371 million. Don's goal for the franchise is to sign up $50 million worth of sales on a monthly basis.
A dedication to the highest quality of service is one factor that earned Don the Number Two International Leadership Award 2005/2006 for the Ray White Group recently.
As well as authoring the best selling Make A Million Selling Real Estate, his purchase of the top-priced Zabeel colt for $2 million at the New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sales at Karaka in 2007, was the networking coup of the year!
All the publicity generated into sales for Ray White Manukau, with the following month being their best ever. "It has been very good for business and a very successful way of networking for me," says Don.
Don says a big part of his success comes from not having worked for anyone. "I've always been my own boss."
Another key factor is having an outstanding team of sales people and staff. "I'm not a clock watcher. As long as they do their hours and bring business into the company I know they are doing their job," he says.
His boundless energy and enthusiasm for work means Don is not about to rest on his laurels. The 40-year-old has a number of new opportunities in the pipeline, including a new exciting investment opportunity for people known as DH Invest.
Also, he plans to join the celebrity speaking circuit so he can pass on his knowledge to others.
